Training Devices

Gulf Helicopter’s Training Academy is fully committed for providing the best in-service and cost-efficient solutions to all customers. Our full-flight simulators built on modern technology and Procedural Trainer enhance the effectiveness of the training and reduce impact on the use of real aircraft:

GHC
  • It is a full motion flight simulator designed and built to meet the requirements of JAR-FSTD H Level B.
  • Training Capabilities include amongst others:

    Systems Management.

    Initial Type Rating.

    Recurrent and Checking.

    Instrument Rating, revalidation and renewal.

    Recency.

    Crew Resource Management (CRM).

    Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT).

    Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC).

    Type Training Testing and Checking.

  • The simulator is built on “roll out, roll in” design philosophy, which allows interchangeability of cockpits of similar aircraft size.
  • Built on ‘Commercial Off The Shelf’ (COTS) technology to yield a highly self-contained, stand alone, modular training device.
  • Instructor Operating Station (IOS) with graphical user interface allows easy access to the vast range of feature.
  • Flight model representations covers behaviour of the helicopter within the full operational flight envelope.
  • Full navigation system representation to include real world navigation and visual databases in the cockpit.
  • Provides representative behaviour and display systems indications for various systems’ responses during normal, abnormal and emergency operating procedures.
  • Compact and reliable motion platform offers superior dynamic performance with relatively large motion envelope.
GHC
  • This device is designed and built to meet EASA CS-FSTD (H) Full Flight Simulator (FFS) Level C regulations.
  • The Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) simulates the flight and systems characteristics of the AW 189 helicopter in offshore configuration in a variety of training and operational environments.
  • Designed to provide high-fidelity simulation of the aircraft dynamics and handling qualities that make it possible to plan for training exercises using different combination of external influences.
  • Has a full size replica of baseline airline cockpit that reproduces the AW 189 helicopter cockpit with the assembly of equipment and computer programs needed to represent the aircraft on ground and flight operations.
  • The FFS comes with a high performance visual systems providing a real time, high brightness and high-resolution imagery out of the window view.
  • The device has a high-performance control loading system providing high fidelity control forces.
  • Has a six degree-of-freedom electro-mechanical motion platform to provide high fidelity simulation of motion cues.
  • The device comes with a high-fidelity simulation of the base helicopter flight characteristics through the use of an advanced blade element rotor model (BERM).
  • The Training device has a high-fidelity simulation of the avionics and helicopter systems (engine, fuel, etc.) based on the aircraft data.
  • The FFS has a digital aural cueing system for both instructor / crew communication and the reproduction of detailed aircraft and equipment aural cues.
  • The device boasts of highly flexible, user-friendly instructor facilities to optimize instructor workload.
  • Training Capabilities include amongest others:

Type Rating Training and Testing including:

VFR / IFR Training. Emergency training including CAT A Operations. Systems Management, including Emergencies.

    Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) Training.

    Recurrent / Refresh Training.

    Line-oriented Flight Training (LOFT).

    Mission Training to include:

Search and Rescue (SAR). Hoist and Sling Load Operations. Offshore Environment together with oil rigs and ships. Night flying. Night Vision goggle (NVG) training. Confined area procedures. Day/night transit flight. Crew reaction in deteriorating conditions, such as meteorological conditions and low fuel. Platform and rooftop landings. Inadvertent entry into instrument meteorological conditions (IMC).
GHC
  • It is a Virtual Interactive Procedural Trainer (VIPT) device.

  • It is a powerful and cost-effective procedural and familiarization training device.
  • Uses advanced graphical visualization techniques to simulate the helicopter cockpit in a virtual environment.
  • Basic Training Capabilities include:

    Cockpit familiarization.

    Cockpit pre-start checks.

    Comms Management.

Autopilot basic and upper mode functionality.

FMS, RMS and display symbology familiarization.

    Engines management procedures.

    Avionics malfunctions identification.

Systems malfunction procedures (electrical, engines, hydraulics, fuel and transmission).

Normal and emergency procedures (related to the cockpit instruments operations).

    Procedural IFR operations.
